Malmö FF has been active on the transfer market this summer under new sporting director Philip Berglund. Berglund comments on the attack competition and transfer pressure surrounding Daníel Gudjohnsen, Sead Haksabanovic, and Otto Rosengren.
Transfer Pressure on Gudjohnsen
Daníel Gudjohnsen, 20, is reportedly keen to leave Malmö FF. He is said to be pursued by German club Arminia Bielefeld. Gudjohnsen has stated that Malmö does not want to sell him. Berglund replied to Fotbollskanalen: "In 'Danis' case, it is clear that he wants to play as much football as possible. We understand 'Danis' feelings. We will simply see where this window goes and then see what follows."
Erik Botheim and Trabzonspor
Erik Botheim, 26, is another player reported to be in agreement with Turkish side Trabzonspor. Botheim is challenged by new signing Diego García, 26, who is now part of Malmö FF's attack. Berglund indicates that one of the attackers will leave the club: "I think something will happen there."
Haksabanovic and Rosengren
Sead Haksabanovic, 27, and Otto Rosengren, 23, are two more players who may move this summer. Berglund confirms the interest but does not want to speculate too much: "I don't know. It's hard to believe things in football. They have done well and there is interest - and they are important for us sportingly."
MFF's position in Allsvenskan
Malmö FF is seventh in Allsvenskan after 17 rounds. The club continues to be active on the transfer market this summer, focusing on strengthening the attack and managing potential departures.
It is clear that Malmö FF wants to keep its key players, but also be open to opportunities that can strengthen the squad for the next season. Sporting director Berglund remains cautious about making premature statements but signals that the attack competition may lead to changes in the squad next season.
