Malmo FF is taking an important step to increase access to physical activities through the initiative Himmelsblå Tillsammans. Together with the city of Malmö, the club focuses on creating more inclusive activities for Malmö residents with disabilities. Research shows that physical activity is crucial for improving both physical and mental health, and this project aims to counteract the lack of activity that many experience. In April, Malmo FF started weekly football training in the combined hall for people with disabilities, with participants coming from various daily activities. Each training session lasts two hours and focuses on movement, joy, and health. At the launch of Himmelsblå Tillsammans, a breakfast meeting was held with representatives from business, the public sector, and community organizations to discuss how more Malmö residents can be given opportunities for movement and community. The goal is to create more accessible activity spaces and train leaders in inclusive approaches. Desiree Almendares-Sköldh, responsible for MFF in the Community, emphasizes the importance of ensuring that more groups have access to community through movement. Roko Kursar, chairman of the support committee, expresses pride in the collaboration between Malmo FF and the city of Malmö and looks forward to creating more meeting places where Malmö residents can enjoy physical activity and become part of the heavenly blue community.
