Malmö FF has discussed Olof Mellberg as new coach, according to Sydsvenskan. He confirms contact with new sports director Philip Berglund. Mellberg initially declined an expert role during the World Cup, but eventually joined SVT's team. – I felt that I had some things going on, but then some of the tracks died out so I had the opportunity, he says to Sydsvenskan. When asked if he will take over Malmö FF, Mellberg replies: – No, I don't think so. Isn't the Norwegian already clear there? It's been quiet about it for a while. Mellberg knows MFF's new sports director Philip Berglund from their time working together at IF Brommapojkarna. – I talk regularly with Philip there, we have very good contact, Mellberg says to Sydsvenskan. Mellberg praises Berglund and highlights his strongest points. – I would say that it's the scouting work; contacts with scouts, clubs and agents, a very important part so clear. He's a calm person, doesn't get worked up unnecessarily, he says to Sydsvenskan.
