Malmo FF has said goodbye to Árnor Sigurdsson after a disappointing stint. The Icelandic player joined MFF in February 2025, but he failed to impress on the pitch.
What happened?
Sigurdsson was a prestigious new signing for MFF, but he had no intention of returning to Sweden and Allsvenskan. It was a personal meeting with sports director Daniel Andersson that made him change his mind.
The contract
MFF paid over 10 million SEK in sign-on bonus for Sigurdsson, and his salary was around 200,000 SEK per month. This made him one of the highest paid players in Allsvenskan.

What's next?
Sigurdsson is now set to join Kalamata FC in the Greek top division. MFF must now review their squad and think about how to replace the Icelandic player.
