Malmo FF have officially confirmed the sale of defender Colin Rösler to Danish AGF Aarhus. The 28-year-old Norwegian leaves the club after two seasons and a Swedish league title.
What happened?
Rösler was not in the squad for Sunday’s 2-1 win against Brommapojkarna. After the match, Malmo announced he was leaving the club. The deal is now complete, and Rösler is set to join AGF Aarhus.
Sporting director Philip Berglund commented: Colin has always been loyal and rarely injured, which are valuable qualities. This season, his playing time has decreased, and we’ve found a solution that suits both him and the club.
Why is this important for Malmo FF?
Rösler was a starter in the spring but has struggled for minutes since the summer break. He has only played 45 minutes across five matches since then.
With Rösler’s departure, Malmo FF can now restructure their defense. The team currently sits fifth in Allsvenskan with 23 points from 15 games and a recent form of WLDWW.
What comes next?
Malmo FF now have the opportunity to invest in a new defender or strengthen other positions. Their next match is at home against Kalmar FF on October 12.
